The Original Mattress Overlay
Widely used by healthcare professionals in Hospitals, Nursing Homes and in the Community, the Invacare® Propad® Mattress Overlay has proved itself to be an essential element of a successful pressure care programme. Designed to sit on top of a conventional mattress, the Propad® Mattress Overlay provides comfort and pressure area care to those considered at 'High Risk' (Waterlow score -20)* of developing pressure ulcers.
Effective Pressure Ulcer Prevention
The foam core has independent, geometrically-cut surface cells which significantly reduce shear and friction, whilst increasing the overall support surface area, thereby reducing peak pressure.
Even Weight Distribution
The Propad® Overlay has larger, more supportive cells at the centre and smaller cells at each end. This enables the mattress overlay to achieve even weight distribution by conforming to the shape and form of the body and cradle bony prominences.
Essential Air Circulation
The Propad® Overlay has a network of 'keyhole' channels at the base of each cell. This ensures air circulation within the overlay, minimising the build up of heat and moisture, helping to reduce shear and friction, and prevent sweating.
