Dorset Nursing Supplies is a family owned business and an established and well-respected medical supply company within the NHS and the care industry. We have been a provider of medical supplies, medical equipment and incontinence supplies since 1985. We also also offer servicing/inspections, repairs and hiring of medical equipment. As contractors to the NHS, we supply a vast range of medical products to Nursing/Care Establishments, Surgeries, Nursing Agencies and the General Public, as well as Hospitals, Universities and Schools, for example supplying care equipment and consumables to Nursing Homes, couch rolls and surgical instruments to Surgeries and incontinence aids and mobility equipment to the public.
We can help you with an extensive range of medical supplies from first aid kits, mobility aids, blood pressure monitors, hospital beds, to adult diapers, latex gloves, aprons, carpet cleaning and hand sanitiser. Discretion: We understand that for sensitive products such as incontinence items discretion is key - is to be as discreet as practically possible. For example, on boxes of diapers all give-away markings will be covered over, and any reasonable special delivery requests will be adhered to.

Meet Our Team
Barrie Mayes – Director & Founder
Barrie started the business in 1985 and, although he is now substantially retired, he retains an active interest in the company. In recent years he has enjoyed playing golf and travelling around Europe with his wife, Sue in their motor-home.
Sue Mayes – Director
Sue joined the business in the mid-1990s. She is now retired but is frequently involved with the company. She is a golfer, a keen bridge player and, of course enjoys travelling with Barrie in their motor-home.
Helen Mayes Martin – Director
Helen’s main responsibilities include the overseeing of our engineering operations and managing supplier & customer accounts. In her spare time Helen is an enthusiastic musician playing in multiple orchestras and regularly performing across Dorset & Hampshire.
Richard Mayes – Director
Richard has worked for the family business since University and manages the local delivery and warehouse staff. His knowledge of the business and the products is extensive and is more than happy to help with any advice or support our customers and staff may need. Outside of work Richard is a passionate sportsman and fan supporting his local team AFC Bournemouth. Richard has also recently been taking part in local marathon runs raising money for the Dorset Mind Charity that Dorset Nursing Supplies continue to support.
Jeremy Mayes – Director
Jeremy heads up our online sales and our B2B relationships. Jeremy is also a passionate photographer specialising in nature and wildlife shots recently being published in local papers. His work can be found on his Instagram page https://www.instagram.com/nature_trailz_photography/?hl=en-gb
Steve Williams & Dominic Challis
Our sales department is headed up by Steve and Dominic. Steve handles most of the phone enquiries while Dominic looks after our web orders. The two them have been with the team for over 30 years combined and have been the foundations of our success, their customer service is second to none and they are always happy to help no matter the nature of the enquiry.
Daniel Clark - Marketing and Website Support
Daniel works remotely for Dorset Nursing Supplies supporting us with all things marketing, social media and website based. In his spare time Daniel loves exploring the outdoors on muddy dog walks out in the New Forrest.
Nigel Martin – Delivery Driver
Nigel has recently joined the team as our delivery driver. As husband to Helen, he is also passionate about music as well as photography and enjoys his role covering the South coast and getting to explore our local areas and scenic hot spots. Further to his music and photography, Nigel is also a trustee for the MARS trust in a voluntary position suporting local young people in their education.
Nick Dann – Engineer
Nick is our most experienced engineer in the team and has been with us for over 20 years. His in depth knowledge of medical equipment and servicing skills means there are very few things that stand in his way from being able to solve problems and fix your equipment. In his spare time Nick is an avid boater and is regularly found at sea at the weekend exploring the Jurassic Coast.
Alexis Grice – Engineer
Alexis has been part of the engineering team for nearly 20 years. He is our electrical specialist however is abilities don't just lie there as he is more than competent in many other areas of nursing and surgery equipment servicing and repairs. Alexis is a father of two and dog lover soon expecting what will be his fourth puppy! Alexis takes part in local sled dog races with his dogs Wolfie, Farrah and Sirius.
Mark Saunders – Engineer/PAT Testing
Mark has been with DNS for around 20 years and has worked in all areas of the business from warehouse work, delivery driving and he has recently joined the engineering team as both a qualified PAT and LOLER tester. Mark also asists with the safe delivery and set up of our lifting equipment Mark is also a family man but when he finds the time is a very keen surfer and enjoys nothing more than catching a few waves down at Highcliffe Beach.
